One UI 8.5 could finally let you resize Quick Settings tiles

One UI 8.5 with Customizable Quick Settings Panel

It’s been just a week since Samsung started rolling out the One UI 8 update globally, and already, multiple images of One UI 8.5 have begun surfacing online. These leaks reveal a much-anticipated overhaul to the Quick Settings panel in the next version of One UI (via @wr3cckl3ss1).

According to the screenshot, Samsung may let Galaxy users resize Quick Settings tiles — similar to what we’ve seen on Google Pixel’s Android 16 Quick Panel. A white curved handle shows up on the right side of some controls, letting you switch between pill-shaped and circular tiles.

The UI also shows a Remove (–) badge for deleting controls and an “Add a control” option at the bottom for adding new ones. This update feels long overdue, as it finally allows users to clean up unnecessary shortcuts from their Quick Panel. And with the option to resize tiles, users can fine-tune the layout to better match their preferences.

Alongside the refreshed Quick Settings panel, the leaker also shared a detailed screenshot of the software information. It shows the Galaxy S25 Ultra running One UI 8.5 with build number S938BXXU5CYIA, featuring the September 2025 security patch and the October 2025 Google Play system update.

One UI 8.5 is still in the testing phase, so these early leaks might not reflect the final version. Samsung is likely to refine things further before release. The update is rumored to debut with the Galaxy S26 series next year, with the Galaxy S25 lineup likely being the first to receive its beta version.
