If you own a Galaxy Z Fold 5 or Galaxy Z Flip 5 running the One UI 8 Beta, there’s a new update waiting for you. Samsung has started rolling out the second beta update for its foldable phones today. This release comes shortly after the recent beta builds for the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S23 series.
According to the changelog (translated from Korean), the new build brings four bug fixes, similar to those rolled out earlier for the Galaxy S23 lineup. The update carries the firmware version ZY16 (via Tarun Vats) and is currently available in Korea.

Here are the fixes included in this update:
- Fixed an issue where the phone would reset during use.
- Fixed an issue where Samsung DeX settings were not retained after updating from the previous OS to One UI 8 via Firmware Over-the-Air (FOTA).
- Fixed an issue where Samsung Weather on the Galaxy Watch 7 did not update in real time.
- Fixed an issue where the KakaoTalk camera would close unexpectedly in a chat room while using Multi Window.
If you’ve been facing any of these problems on your foldable, now is the right time to update. As of now, Samsung hasn’t confirmed when the update will expand to other regions, but it is expected to roll out globally in the coming hours or days. We’ll keep you posted once there’s more information.
